Description
An SMS 10 kWh lithium battery for larger home systems and small commercial loads.
Ten kilowatt-hours of lithium storage is a well-matched capacity for a 3–5 kW inverter and a 3–4 kWp array, which is the standard configuration for a family home in Nigeria running a fridge, freezer, washing machine, television and a water pump.
Size it from your own numbers rather than a round figure. Daily consumption in kWh, times the days of autonomy you want, divided by depth of discharge, gives the nominal capacity you need — the full method is in our solar sizing guide.
At this capacity the chemistry decision has real financial consequences. Lithium gives roughly 85% usable energy against 50% for lead-acid, lasts several times longer, and needs no maintenance, which usually makes it the cheaper option over its life despite the higher purchase price. See our lithium versus lead-acid comparison.
Rated specification (manufacturer): Rated Voltage 51.2 V — the 48 V class; Rated Capacity 200 Ah; Rated Energy 10,240 Wh (10.24 kWh). Source: SMS 10 kWh (51.2 V, 200 Ah) specification, as published by Tegra and other Nigerian stockists.
That 51.2 V rating is the 48 V class, and it decides the inverter: this bank needs a 48 V inverter and cannot be run on a 24 V one. See our 24V vs 48V guide.
Manufacturer warranty: 5 years. The exact unit, its dimensions and the parallel limits are confirmed to you in writing before you pay, and we correct this page if the supplied unit differs.
