Feezlinkz FAQ

How much does solar panel installation cost in Nigeria?
Solar installation costs in Nigeria vary by system size. A basic 1kVA system starts from ₦350,000, a 3kVA system ranges from ₦800,000–₦1,200,000, and a 5kVA system can cost ₦1,500,000–₦2,500,000, depending on panel quality, battery type, and installation complexity. Feezlinkz offers free site assessments to provide an accurate quote for your property.
How long does solar panel installation take?
A standard residential solar installation by Feezlinkz takes 1–2 days for most homes. Larger commercial installations may take 3–5 days. This includes mounting the panels, connecting the inverter and battery bank, and testing the full system before handover.
What is included in a Feezlinkz solar installation?
Every Feezlinkz solar installation includes a site survey and energy assessment, supply of solar panels, inverter, and battery storage, professional mounting and wiring, connection to your existing electrical system, system testing and commissioning, and a post-installation support period.
How many solar panels do I need to power my home in Nigeria?
The number of panels depends on your energy consumption. A typical Nigerian home using fans, lights, TV, and a small fridge needs 4–8 panels (300W–400W each). Homes with air conditioning or large appliances may require 10–16 panels. Feezlinkz carries out a free load assessment to calculate the right system size for you.
Do solar panels work during rainy or cloudy weather?
Yes. Solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy days, though at reduced capacity — typically 10–25% of peak output. During extended rainy periods, the battery storage system provides backup power. Nigeria’s average of 5–7 peak sun hours per day makes solar highly effective year-round, even in the south.
How long do solar panels last?
Quality solar panels last 25–30 years. Most panels come with a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing at least 80% output over that period. Inverters typically last 10–15 years and batteries 5–10 years depending on usage. Feezlinkz supplies panels and inverters from trusted brands backed by manufacturer warranties.
Can solar power completely replace NEPA/PHCN electricity?
Yes, a properly sized off-grid or hybrid solar system can fully replace grid dependency. Feezlinkz designs systems based on your actual load profile, ensuring your solar and battery capacity covers your daily energy needs — including nights and overcast days — without relying on the national grid.

Analysis: If actual battery voltage is normal, while, battery voltage on LCD is abnormal, you should doubt if battery sample circuit has some trouble. Test Method: (1) Firstly, disconnect battery from the inverter and test the battery voltage separately. (2) If battery voltage is normal, then connect battery into the inverter and check battery voltage on LCD. Try to adjust to the battery on LCD via inverter battery voltage setting. Solution: (1) Only connect battery to inverter( Don’t connect to utility, PV system and load). (2) Press UP and Down at the same time for 3 seconds and type 111 , then press Enter (3) Select battery page, S means reduce the voltage, A means increase the voltage. (4) For example, LCD displays 53V and the multimeter displays 50V, then type 3V on S state, and press enter to save it. (5) If the above method failed to fix this problem. Try to replace mainboard.
Analysis: It may be caused by load or inverter hardware problem. Test Method: (1) Disconnect load from inverter, then check if 05 fault will disappear. (2) If 05 fault still occurs, switch off the inverter until black screen, then set the knob into diode setting on your multimeter and test AC output. If beeping, there is short circuit inside the inverter. Solution: (1) If it is related to load, please find out which load causes this problem and try to disconnect it. (2) If it is related to inverter, pls contact Growatt Service Team for further solutions.
Analysis: When AC output voltage reaches 280V and lasts for 200ms. It will report the fault. Test Method: Just connect the inverter to battery bank, Switch on the inverter, if 06 still occurs, it means DC-AC circuit has the trouble. Solution: (1) Please troubleshoot AC cable between the inverter and load, if 06 fault will disappear after disconnecting all loads, the cable may be too thin and transmission distance is too far. (2) Please try to contact Growatt Service Team for further solutions.
Analysis: There are 2 conditions that may trigger the fault: a. Load power has been greater than 112% and lower than 150% and lasted for 10s b. Load power has been greater than 150% and lasted for 2s Test Method: (1) Try to disconnect the load from inverter, then observe if inverter has normal AC output 230V and no 07 fault again. (2) If still abnormal, most of time it is caused by control board. Test Method: (1) Firstly, check if the parallel cable is connected sufficiently and restart the inverter, and see if it can become normal. (2) Secondly, after the check of the parallel cable, if still abnormal, try to replace the parallel cable. (3) Thirdly, if all the above methods can’t solve the problem, try to make inverters run separately, and then observe if 81 fault will disappear. If it won’t, try to replace parallel board inside the inverter. Solution: Try to swap parallel cables or parallel boards using a normal inverter, and then you will directly know which part has the malfunction.

On grid inverter FAQ

Normally, the DC voltage of Growatt single phase inverter could up to 550V, for three-phase inverter, it is 1100V. When the string voltage exceeds this value, the inverter will report that the PV input voltage is too high. Solution: Check each string to ensure that the total PVs’ open-circuit voltage of the string is lower than the highest value of the inverter. At the same time, the influence of the ambient temperature on the component voltage needs to be considered.
All of Growatt’s on-grid inverters will take the insulation resistance test between panels to ground before starting up. If the positive and negative poles of the string are short-circuited to the ground, it will damage the inverter. Therefore, when the “PV insulation resistance is too low” occurs in the inverter, it needs to be dealt with in time. You can use a multimeter to measure whether the resistance of the positive and negative pairs of the string is lower than 50KΩ. If it is lower, which means that there is leakage in the modified line. Or use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the positive and negative poles of the string to the ground. If it is purely at a certain voltage value, it also means that the line is purely leaking. Solution: Check out the string with leakage current and make rectification. If there is no problem with the wiring, consider replacing the inverter.
Analysis: All Growatt on-grid inverters are designed in accordance with the local power grid safety requirements, but when the grid fluctuates, the grid voltage will change. At this time, if the voltage is higher than the inverter’s working range, the inverter will be disconnected from the grid and prompt “AC voltage out of range”. For example, as China CQC certification, the inverter’s AC voltage range is 195V-253V; if the grid voltage suddenly exceeds this value, the device will be disconnected from the grid due to excessive voltage. Solution: You can widen the voltage range through the inverter setting menu; or use the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to modify the voltage protection parameters. You can also use the ShinePhone, ShineTools APP or web version ShineServer platform to enter the parameter setting interface to adjust the voltage range of the device.
Analysis: The fault is mainly because the AC voltage difference between the zero line and the ground line is higher than 20V during the inverter self-check. The main reason is that the N cable on the grid side is connected in a virtual way, or the ground wire is not connected properly. Solution: Check whether the wiring is abnormal, and rectify the faulty point. Or use the debugging tool software Shinebus to disable this function.
Analysis: The grid frequency is out of range mainly because the inverter needs to detect the frequency of the grid at all times for phase locking. If the grid suddenly changes, the frequency will fluctuate. At this time, the inverter will disconnect with the grid due to frequency jitter. Solution: You can widen the frequency range through the inverter setting menu; or use the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to modify the frequency protection parameters. You can also use the mobile APP or web version monitoring platform and enter the parameter setting interface to widen the frequency range of the device.
Analysis: Normally, the inverter’s voltage and current output waveforms are in pure AC form. If the AC waveform is doped with DC waveforms due to device fault, the inverter will report the fault. Solution: You can set parameters through the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to adjust the condition of the DC component; if it still does not work, you need to consider replacing the inverter.
Analysis: The relay fault reported by the inverter is divided into hardware fault and software fault. If the fault is reported after the inverter is connected to AC and DC power, it is generally a hardware problem. If the relay is reported by the inverter after the inverter counts down three times, it is usually a parameter or grid problem, which needs to be dealt with according to the actual situation. Solution: If the fault is reported when the power is turned on, it can only be handled by changing the machine. If it is reported after self-inspection 3, you can contact our after-sales staff for communication and processing.
Analysis: If the temperature reported by the inverter is too high, it is necessary to check whether the installation location of the inverter is ventilated and whether the fan is rotating normally. If it is not caused by the external factors, please contact our after-sales service, check the log of the inverter, and find the reasons of the high temperature. Solution: For external reasons, make appropriate rectifications. If it is an internal reason, please follow the guidelines of our after-sales engineers.
Analysis: This fault means that the bus capacitor voltage inside the inverter is abnormal, and the positive and negative deviations are too high. When this problem occurs, you need to check whether the string voltage is too high and whether the string is grounded. Solution: First check whether there is a problem with the wiring, if it caused by the wiring, please rectify and restart the divice. If the wiring is normal and the device still reports the fault, please contact our after-sales staff.
Analysis: When this fault occurs, it is necessary to check whether it is a new device fault or a fault reported after using for a period of time; general new device faults may be caused by vibration of the machine during transportation, resulting in the looseness of the control board inside the inverter. If it has been used for a period of time, it is possible that the firmware of the control board is missing. Solution: For the new device, you can ask a technician to disassemble the machine and check the PCB board inside the inverter to see if there is any abnormality such as looseness. If the fault occured during the using, please contact our after-sales staff.
Analysis: Growatt inverter has SPD on the AC & DC sides. If the machine is subjected to surge or lightning strike, it will play a protective role, and then the lightning protection device of the machine will fail and give an alarm. Solution: The failure of the SPD will not affect the power generation of the inverter, but it will not benefit the long-term work of the inverter. Therefore, when the fault occurs, you need to contact our after-sales engineer to deal with it.
Analysis: When the inverter reports this fault, it is necessary to check whether the cooling fan on the back of the inverter is rotating. If it does not rotate, you can use external force to rotate the fan blades to see if there is any resistance. If there is, it means that the fan is stuck inside or there is a problem with the bearing, and the fan needs to be replaced. Solution: As long as it is determined that it is a fan problem, please replace it directly. If all the fans have been replaced and it still doesn’t work, there may be a problem with the power supply of the fans inside the machine, please contact our after-sales staff to deal with it.
